'Lena is struck by how perfectly, cheesily Hallmark this image is; a beautiful blonde, playing in the snow, red-faced and grinning beneath an obviously homemade knit hat. Her glasses are nowhere to be found, probably tossed somewhere in the struggle, and her eyes are so damned blue they put the sky above to shame. Lena doesn’t realize she’s been staring until Kara is standing directly in front of her, crouched so she can meet Lena’s eyes, concern knitting her brow. “Are you alright? You kinda zoned out, there.” She presses the back of a warm hand to Lena’s forehead, which, honestly, does not help Lena compose herself.'
Lena gets into an accident, and Kara saves her life. As one does.
But when Cadmus starts gunning for Lena, she finds herself stuck with the extended Danvers-Kent-Lane-Schott-Olsen family for the holidays.
She supposes, though, that she'll have to make the best of it.(You do NOT need to read Maggie Sawyer's Guide before reading this, but I highly recommend it because the context makes the dynamics better and the jokes funnier.)

"sorry, she's here to discuss her upcoming album-" management cuts in- and you take advantage of the momentary distraction to fluff your hair, check your nails, do anything but appear shaken by the question.
why did you leave?
it was over. none of them wanted it to be, but it was over. 2ne1 had been given up on by everyone but 2ne1. staying and trying to push it wouldn't have served anybody. just look at chaerin and sandara.
management conclude their scolding and the interviewer eyes you inquisitively. you smile. "would you stay?" you ask. your manager demands the answer is struck from the record.

But when the power cuts out, they find themselves trapped inside the elevator, and a normally disastrous event turns into a stroke of luck for both of them as they're forced to lean on each other for company while they wait for help to come and rescue them.
Learning more about each other, it turns into a night that they won't be quick to forget about.

Summary
Jessica Hoang takes her job very seriously. It’s odd, or uncommon, as she’s learned- people are always so surprised when she seems more loyal to Lena Luthor than the advancement of her own career. She used to think that the whole trope of secretaries selling out their bosses for personal gain existed only in bad TV shows, but, as always, she overestimates the human race.
So when Kara Danvers the reporter starts showing up more often, she’s wary and a little irritated. Yes, Lena said to let her in at any time, so she does so dutifully, but she’s seen her share of reporters and she’s not impressed with the bunch. Words are their trade, and it wouldn’t take much to motivate a reporter to twist Lena’s image around for a pretty buck.
