“I’ve run out of time, Master Diluc,” Kaeya says. “Anybody born human in Khaenri’ah eventually turns into one of the monsters that we strike down every day. It’s my turn now.”
“How do we stop it then?” Diluc asks.
“Come now, Diluc,” Kaeya says. “You know what the solution to this is.”
“I certainly don’t,” Diluc snaps.
Kaeya sobers up. Takes a breath.
“You have to kill me.”

“And you will, one day. It takes time to master, so be patient Kaeya.”Kaeya took up painting as a hobby from Master Crepus and it was one of the few things he enjoys and holds dear. His dream was to draw as many happy memories as he could, hoping they would last, but then the man he looked up to as a father figure died and everything came crashing down around him. Kaeya stopped painting his happy memories and compensated for the void by painting others' happy memories. But with Diluc's return, he longed for the happier days they shared together.
If only he could be honest with his own feelings and stop avoiding the redhead.

Summary
After the fight on Diluc's eighteenth birthday, Kaeya figured he was no longer welcome in Mondstadt. He never wanted to leave though, he had no other home besides Mondstadt. He decides his best option is to hide, using an ability unique to those from Khaenri'ah. So Kaeya starts a new life in Mondstadt, this time, just as a completely different person. And the rest of Mondstadt will just believe Kaeya to have disappeared.
Originally meant to cover both day 1 and 2 of the Wine and Hearth Kaeya's Grand Stage birthday event. Really only covering day 2 now with the prompt of Secrets.
