“Eh? But-but… oh!” The woman smiled, “Your brother then?”
“My brother?” Lan Xichen scoffed, “God forbid I will allow that to even happen. Neither of us will be marrying you.”
“What?! But why?!” The woman shrieked.
“Why would we want to marry a liar?” Lan Xichen tilted his head in question.

With a wave of his hand, he watched impassively as the guards dragged the woman out of the suite. He sighed to himself before going to stand by the window, looking into the vast skyline.
He had hoped to find the owner of the ring, and thank them for their kindness. Not many would have done what they had done for him, let alone his family.

However, it does not mean that he does not resent his draconic heritage and the… egg that he has to carry until he finds a proper mate to breed.
He is well aware that keeping it inside of him for so long is simply foolish: the more he waits, the more likely his body will try to expel it by any means possible.
And wasn’t just that the crux of the issue?
