Summary
It started with burnout and ended with a choice.
Meredith Grey is tired of being Chief of General Surgery, of being ignored, of bleeding herself dry for a hospital that won’t listen. When David Hamilton offers her a leadership role on the Parkinson’s project in Minnesota, she doesn’t say yes right away. Not because she’s unsure but because she’s in love. And leaving means taking her children and Addison with her.
What she doesn’t know is Addison Montgomery is just as done with Grey Sloan.
But resigning isn’t as easy as letting go. Not when they’re both Chiefs. Not when the board is away and HR is watching. Not when silence greets their departures more than celebration.
Two women. Two careers. One future worth choosing, together.

Summary
“The ceremony is necessary” - Madame B, Age of Ultron
“The one thing that might matter more than a mission” - Natasha Romanoff, Age of Ultron
Natalia Romanova is known as the Black Widow for a reason. The youngest and best graduate from the Red-Room, she is ruthless, vicious, efficient, loyal. She is the sharpest knife in the hand of the motherland. She knows her orders, knows her duty, does not question it.
Until she does.
Madame was right, the ceremony was necessary, because her daughter is the one thing more important than any mission.
Sort of part of a series, but not really. Can definitely be read as a stand-alone. A different strike team delta origin story.
