Summary
“I was already dead once. You can’t tell me people wouldn’t be better off if I’d stayed that way.”
“A handful of criminals, maybe. But not us. Not your family.”
“You don’t know-”
“Not me.”

Summary
He’s on fire.
Or he was.
Or he will be, soon.
The flames are lapping at the edges of his perception, reaching towards him in greedy tendrils that paint a watercolor portrait of misery so all-consuming that it almost becomes a comfort. The line between reality and fiction is impossible to pick out, smudged over by the dark haze of smoke and ash. Life. Death. The before… the after. Dean can’t tell which is which, but then again, why even bother to make that distinction?
All of it is burning.

Summary
They stay that way for a long time, Catra’s face tucked into Adora’s shoulder, Adora gently cradling Catra’s head. Adora is careful not to hug Catra too hard or make her feel restrained, anticipating the moment that Catra will start to pull away — but Catra doesn’t. She hangs on so tightly it hurts, her claws digging through Adora’s jacket and into her back, latching into her like she did when she was a kitten and didn’t know how much her claws could hurt. Adora tries not to wince, tries not to move a single muscle, worried that if she does the spell will break and Catra will struggle away, appalled at having shown weakness.
But Catra doesn’t let go. And so neither does Adora.

Summary
In the meantime, they’d have their familiar dance; trips to museums and galleries, promenades through the park, evenings in the shop where the world went golden and giddy at the edges.
Six thousand years, he’d gone without Crowley kissing him. He’d go another six if it meant giving Crowley the world instead.
[Aziraphale and Crowley have rekindled their old friendship, which is all they want from each other now that the world hasn't ended. Absolutely nothing more. Nothing at all.]

Summary
“Er. That plant.”
“Yeah?”
“May I have it?”
“No!”
The vehemence with which he responded made them both pause. Crowley was startled by the anger that welled up at the thought of handing the jade plant over to Aziraphale, and that was downright weird because he was not in the habit of denying the angel much at all.
“I mean,” he said carefully, “if you want a plant, let me give you one of the snake plants or maybe the big coleus. They'd be good for the shop, pretty stalwart in the dark...You don't want this one, it's rotten.”
“Actually,” Aziraphale said firmly, “I do want that one.”

Summary
"—Fell from Heaven?”
Crowley stiffened. Behind his glasses, his eyes widened, the yellow irises covering the whites.
The music of the club faded into ringing, behind which he could almost imagine he heard the screams of the Fallen, the crackle of burning wings. The club no longer smelled like sweat and alcohol, but like brimstone and ash.
Old wounds, old aches, old scars, flared with phantom pain as Crowley tried not to break apart and shatter into a million worthless pieces.
[A thoughtless pickup line brings up old memories]
