Summary
Three years after Aziraphale left for Heaven, Crowley has built a strange life on Earth. He drives Maggie to appointments, teaches crows how to swear, drinks (occasionally, though he doesn't like to admit it), and sleeps in his Bentley. When he discovers mysterious signs that something big is happening Upstairs, he debates between confronting what occurred between him and Aziraphale and leaving everything behind. He wasn't going to ask questions; he'd learned enough from his past experiences... but something is very clearly wrong.
As heaven prepares for the Second Coming, Aziraphale preps a young, reincarnated Jesus for Heaven's Great Plan, bringing peace and harmony to Earth - or so Aziraphale thinks. He learns that there is something larger and more ineffable than anything he, or the demon Crowley, could have imagined.
Or, a Season 3 rewrite with flashbacks, (mis)communication, and a cottage at the end, truly.

Summary
After a month apart, Hans Richter prepares a quiet, deliberate reunion for James Maurice - a world-famous French detective called from Germany to Canada for a case. He books a reservation at a French restaurant in Berlin, prepares a late-season Pinot Gris, and buys a small bouquet of Alstroemeria. After James's flight is delayed, Hans waits. When James finally arrives, flustered and apologetic, they fall into an easy rhythm of wine and conversation, of gifts exchanged, of feet grazing under the table and shoulders leaning in the taxi.
All the while, the city buzzes outside, reminiscent of their entire journey. But that was some other time. Tonight, they have this.
