Summary
Sugawara Koushi grew up living in luxury. That was one of the perks of being a prince. When his mother and step-father are assassinated, however, he is forced to run away from his comfortable life among the elite in order to stay alive and safe. After learning of his brother's coronation at a much-too-early age, he decides, along with his friends, both old and new, to retake the kingdom from its corrupt new ruler.
HQ fantasy AU because why not? Very DaiSuga-centric, but it'll eventually have a lot of the characters. Update schedule should be about every three weeks. Hope you enjoy!!

What is love?
A question repeated since the dawn of time. Many interpretations exist, but mankind has yet to discern a true, undisputed answer. So for each and every person, there is a different solution, a different end.
To Alhaitham, love is an ideal. A pure, untouchable ideal—that which people project often on others, or aspire for within themselves. But ideals exist within one’s imagination—desirable, perfect, unlikely to become reality. ‘Impracticable’, ‘unattainable’, ‘unfeasible’. All synonyms of ‘ideal’. To say love is an ideal is to say it is all these qualities.
Love is such a human thing. A reflection of humanity’s deepest desires for connection and completion—to balance ourselves. Because after all, we are lonely creatures.
Alhaitham is not a man who is accustomed to expressing his affection often, if at all. So when he finds himself contracting a mythical, virtually incurable disease, of course he doesn't know how to deal with it the way how normal, completely sane people do.

For the first time in his life, Steve is presented with the opportunity to help those is need and do it well, so he agrees and Erskine toasts his ‘not a perfect soldier, but a good man’ with some apple schnapps that Steve isn’t allowed to drink.
The next day, Steve is to be reborn.
But he isn’t.
He doesn’t die, nor does he become evil; instead, he walks out of the tube after being zapped and monitored and injected seemingly unchanged. He’s still 5’2 and scrawny as hell, his limbs match-stick thin, and if his heart is pounding powerfully in his ears, well, that’s just the pain talking.
Or, an AU in which Steve gets the serum but stays small, Bucky gets the serum and becomes Captain America, and they still end up together happily, seventy-some years later.
