Dennis feels himself collapse inwardly. This was everything he didn’t want, everything he had feared as soon as he packed up all of his and Brian’s things and drove away from all his son had ever known. He wanted things to be the same, exactly the same as before he left, and fine, he knows that he’s a father now so obviously things are different - but so much had changed for Dennis over the last year, was it so hard to ask for one thing to stay the same? For his friends, the only people he’s ever truly felt like he belonged with, to view him the same way as before?

Summary
Mac McDonald and Charlie Kelly are roommates. They're both 27, near-starvation broke on the edge of eviction, and somehow Charlie is the only one really managing to hold down a job as a janitor at a shitty bar nearby. Mac has goals, of course he has goals, but while he ruminates on them, stuck between jobs, he takes what he has to his advantage: free alcohol from his roommate who works at a bar and unlimited streams of women to choose from every night.
