In the beginning, the gods created all the universes and the fans were happy. A little later, some of the horny fangirls decided that crossovers were a thing. This particular fangirl has had some serious ups and downs and was talking to another fangirl about these universes and the second fangirl said, "hey...can you just see this?" And the first fangirl heard a little joyous..."ah hells yeah" in the back of her head, in the part where broken hearts live....and this little thing was born and it was a GOOD idea.
[This particular story is growing slowly; it is a NaNo entry this year, but if it comes between this and the paying jobs, unfortunately I have to pick those....but do not lose heart, the second fangirl is seriously keeping me on track!}
So, in the meantime, grab your favorite beverage of choice and let's go visit the doctor.

Summary
I realized, after I wrote them, that I had an entire headcanon of stories that belong together. I don't know when or how, but I do know that there will eventually be more. Both 'Harder to Breathe' and 'Press Conference' are linked in the main text of Within and Without, but I thought it would be helpful to add them to this series. My hope is to eventually incorporate both of those stories into the text and perhaps add some more details.

With Smaug the dragon dead and the battle of the five armies over, nothing remains as it once was. Cities have been reduced to rubble, too many lives have been lost. But it's not only stone walls that have fallen. Thranduil, Elvenking of the Woodland Realm, has maintained an impenetrable wall around his heart, having loved so deeply that he cannot go near it again. The tears of a Silvan Elf for a dead Dwarf make him realise that just because something is unheard of and unspoken, it's no less real.
But it takes the sharp eye of a bowman to find the crack in the armour, be it hidden within the scales of a dragon or on the ice wall around an Elvenking's heart...
