Summary
Trying to escape his way too traditional family, Jisung moves to New York because Seungmin—a friend who’s not too close to—gets him a room in his house and a job in a Korean BBQ restaurant owned by his boyfriend’s bestie. Enters Minho: the chef, his new boss, and a pain in the ass. It all seems convenient, yet, it doesn’t mean it would be easy or simple.
As he learns how to deal with the situation, Jisung feels lonely and misses his friends, his country, his culture. Things start to change when he breaks down one day and Jisung finally decides to rely on Seungmin. He wasn’t counting on earning a Real, Honest friendship with him out of it. Less so, a way to deal with Minho. That's when he steps up, confronts his stubborn devil-in-an-angel-suit yet well intended boss, and ends up with a date (or what feels like it) with him.

Felix's voice dropped to a whisper. "He doesn't remember you."
The words hung in the air between them.
"What?"
"Minho, I'm so sorry. I'm so-" Felix's hand came up, reaching for Minho's arm. Minho pulled away.
"What do you mean, he doesn't remember me?"
"Whoever did this-whoever downloaded his consciousness and grew the body-they wiped the memories. Selectively." Felix's voice shook. "They erased specific people from his file. It's crude, the way it was done. Like they took a blade to the data. They didn't smooth the edges or fill the gaps. They just cut."
Minho stared at him.
"He knows something is missing." Felix's eyes were wet. "He keeps touching his chest and saying he feels strange. Like he's waiting for something that never comes. He asked me if he had a lover. He asked me if there was someone he was supposed to remember. He said-" Felix's voice broke entirely. "He said he felt like he'd lost someone but couldn't remember who."

“Are you really not coming back home, Chris?” He finally said.
Chan froze. He blinked. Jeongin calling him Chris replayed in his head over and over again.
Jeongin only called him Chris in their most desperate moments—when Jeongin needed Chan in one way or another, when he was falling apart in his arms, when he needed emotional support.
“You know I cannot,” Chan answered, voice impossibly low. As if he were ashamed of the answer. As if he could not explain why.
