A fic exploring the dark side of their codependent relationship and Matt's overcontrolling inability to let Jay branch out vs Jay's desire to do other things. The fic is not meant to be anti-Matt! But he does do things here, like in the show, that are not particularly Morally Great. “Here”, Matt holds up the phone. No photo, caller ID Anne. “Um, your sister is calling you?”
Jay sits back down on the couch, his brow furrows. Matt picks up the call, presses the speaker symbol and tosses the phone into Jay's lap who rushes to hold it up to his ear.
“Hello?” Jay flinches as soon as the way too loud voice of his sister booms into his brain. He turns off speakerphone. Matt makes a displeased sound as he drops next to him.
“Hey Annie, what's up?” They don't call each other, have more of a text-back-two-days-later-relationship.
“Hi Jay, so you have to promise not to get mad.”
Jay's little sister is getting married, so Matt and Jay pretend to be a couple. To get a show at the Rivoli, of course.
