Summary
It's summer, the kind that drapes everything in gold, with the kind of heat that seeps in through the window, clinging to bare skin. It's why Euijoo is sprawled out on his bed, shirtless, a sheen of sweat catching in the late afternoon light. And it's why Nicholas can't stop looking at him. He tells himself it's just the way the sunlight falls, tracing the ridges of Euijoo's collarbones, the dip of his stomach, the rise and fall of his chest. But there's no use pretending. His fingers are already there, ghosting over the flat of Euijoo's belly as he absently scrolls through his phone, pretending he doesn't notice the way Nicholas touches him.

Summary
He likes the idea–how the heart takes care of itself, on autopilot, immune to emotions and distractions. But it can also betray you. Arrhythmias, heart failure, blockages–things can go wrong in the most delicate ways and then poof, you’re worm food. His heart hasn’t betrayed him–at least not in a way it matters–and yet, now, he feels the most betrayed he has ever felt with it because he doesn’t know why it feels like it’s beating out of his chest.
Maybe because Euijoo’s looking straight at him, maybe because he’s just kissed the narrow space in between his pecs so delicately it makes his chest burn, maybe because he looks so damn good on top of him.
