“Okay, okay. Serious question,” Charles said. “Are you two mad at each other?”
The van quieted. It’s obvious who the sentence is directed to.
Ryusei didn’t flinch, putting the turn signal on and changed lanes. “We’re not mad.”
“You sure?” Charles leaned forward between the seats, grinning. “Because there’s no way Ryusei Shidou can go thirty minutes without groping his Sae-cham. Scientific fact.”
Laughter echoed behind them. Sae felt heat crawl up the back of his neck. Ryusei’s hand remained firmly on the steering wheel.
Sae didn’t say anything.
It’s been 4 months since Sae and Ryusei broke up. But no one knows. They never found the right moment to tell their friends, and now it’s too late. Summer has arrived, and with it, a long-planned vacation that leaves them trapped in a lie of their own making.
They are now stuck faking a relationship they’ve already ended, forced to act like nothing’s changed, even when everything has.

Summary
There Sae was, unconscious on the bed. His body looks smaller somehow, swallowed by the crisp white sheets and the maze of wires and tubes surrounding him. Bandages are wrapped around the side of his head, stained faintly with dried blood. His skin is pale, almost sickly, and there are bruises scattered along his arms, neck, and face. It felt wrong to look at.
This couldn’t be his brother. No, it just couldn’t.
After Sae jumps from his balcony and falls into a coma, Rin is left to pick up the pieces while trying to figure out where his relationship stands with his brother. He also begins to learn what it means to lean on others, and that healing doesn’t have to be done alone.

Summary
Ryusei Shidou might just be the most miserable person in the world. He's just lost a loved one after a lengthy battle with their illness, and still has hospital bills to pay. His art career is in the dumpster, as he hasn't finished a single project since he began spending every night at the hospital. And he just had the world's ugliest breakup with his boyfriend of three years, Sae Itoshi, the only person who'd been keeping his head above water all this time (while simultaneously drowning him, arms wrapped around his throat).
But somehow, things still manage to get worse, when he finds out that Sae no longer recognizes him, as he's had his memory of him, and their entire relationship, erased.
In a fit of rage, Shidou rushes to get the same procedure done, so he too can forget about Sae and all of the damage they did to one another. But as he traverses backward in time, exploring their memories from breakup to meeting, he realizes, far too late, that maybe he doesn't want to forget.
