Your hands touched my skin one last time, not in a caress per se – but in a rough stroke that conveyed hurt and sadness and love. Your face was still, resigned. And I couldn't help thinking, maybe love isn't meant to last. Written for the LJ Scorpius/Rose Ficafest 2012.

Summary
Ever since she’d been small, Hermione’s reward for good marks had been a rampage through a bookshop, so the day she tore open her O.W.L.s results and triumphantly brandished the eleven Outstandings, her beaming mother said, “We’ll go to Foyles tomorrow,” without any discussion required.

Summary
In 1943, small-town slugger Brienne Tarth is recruited to play for Tywin Lannister’s newest business venture: the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. There, she meets Jaime, a maimed former Major League pitcher who’s been talked into managing one of his father’s teams. She can't stand her arrogant coach, and he is definitely not interested in his annoyingly principled star player. They don't like each other at all, really...until they do.
Loosely inspired by "A League of Their Own," with slightly less baseball and lots more love story.

Summary
“I would ordinarily say ‘allow me to save you from yourself,’ ” she continued, “but one must be prepared to compromise for the sake of a desperate case.”
“The gods forfend you should compromise, Miss Fisher,” he managed, almost certain, all at once, of what she was going to say and how she was going to say it and what it was bound to do to him.
