    The look on her face pings something ancient and instinctive in Bruce’s brain. It’s the same electric jolt of fear and protectiveness that his ancestors must have felt seeing a tiger’s eyes fixed on their child’s cradle. He steps in front of Dick.

    She lifts her gaze to fix on him instead, hateful.

    She raises one hand, fingers curled around the bloodied wounds the glass left in her palm, to point at him. “I see your fate too,” she spits, voice rising above the roar of water and wind and rain and the crashing sea outside. “I know that it will be you that kills him.”

    And her hand jerks to point at Dick where he peeks out from behind Bruce’s cape.
