Summary
Aventurine walks through the paw print door and freezes. Acheron bumps into him but her question doesn’t register to his ears. Of course Jade didn’t mean Boothill or Acheron or the Hunters.
Sunday is surrounded by a number of cats, speaking to one perched on the counter with a tenderness that makes Aventurine’s heart ache. Fluttering wings, soft smile, a voice to melt anyone’s thoughts into a puddle.
Sunday also, devastatingly, wears a black and white maid outfit, a cat tail, and cat ears.

Summary
“He doesn’t feel that way,” Cyno tells him, enunciating his words through his own slurred, wine-drunk voice. “Alhaitham and I have been working closely together for months. I would have noticed.”
“I highly, highly doubt that." Tighnari lifts up the cup of gin, shrugs, then finishes the shot. He grimaces. "You never noticed me.”

Summary
‘They say the happiest day of a man’s life is his wedding, you know.’
‘It’ll be just like it. No, better. Better than your wedding.’ Haitham smiles at him and it hurts, then. Hurts so sweetly that Cyno feels detached almost from his own two feet. There is no time now to think about why. He is so close to something that he cannot name but he sees that it is good, and eventually the pain turns itself over, tender.
‘How so?’ he asks.
Haitham’s still smiling at him while he continues, ‘All of the desert is waiting to love you, in the morning. All of it. Tell me—how could a single person even compare?’

Summary
With Cyno in her life, Alhaitham found herself thinking more and more about that “soulmate” of hers. The faceless, nebulous, supposed “love of her life” that she was intended to love until the end of time.
It was senseless, but when she thought about a forever love, all she could see was Cyno. The face she made when she lost at Genius Invocation, the way her fringe would always fall into her eyes, the scrunch of her nose when she laughed, the way she looked on the balcony, watching the sunset with Alhaitham. All she could see was Cyno. It was always Cyno.
Alhaitham saw Cyno's soulmark the first day they met. They're not soulmates. (They are.)Bookmarked by aphroditics
