“Fuck, I missed you,” Sam sighs into your hair.
“Missed you too.”
You two embrace for a long moment. Your arms, wrapped around his neck, help hide your embarrassingly excited smile as you press a quick kiss against his cheek.
“Three weeks is way too long,” Sam says and you laugh.
“I’m coming with you next time,” you tell him. “I’ll be your groupie.”
Sam chuckles at the thought.
“You would’ve been bored after a day,” he says as he steps back to look you in the face.
“Bored? With you? Never.”
Or… When Sam returns home from a month long “tour”, you two are eager to make up for lost time.

“I’m thinking about leaving.” Sebastian says, suddenly, words heavy like raindrops, eyelids, bootprints. “I mean, like… the valley.” Sebastian finishes a sentence that Sam had forgot he even started. Sam finds himself suddenly, brought back, full throttle to reality, no longer marijuana-hazy and no longer so comfortable with his feelings.
“What?” Sam just gawks at him. He looks at Sebastian like he’s killed his whole family, deleted his save file, quit the band, everything.
“You can’t just leave me.” It isn’t a question. Sam’s eyes are suddenly glued into Sebastian’s. He feels hurt, he’s allowed to, he thinks. That would be a normal response to this, and not the product of his stupid, lovestruck-dumbfuck-wanttofuck feelings. Which was exactly what had brought them here in the first place.

Summary
Sam feels like a fish out of water in Zuzu City; new college, new job, a new sense of freedom that he isn't sure he likes as much as he expected to. What's worse is that his manager takes an immediate disliking to him, and won't seem to let it go.
It's a little funny that the guy shares a name with Sam's ex-best friend. The two of them are nothing alike.
