艾默里克认为自己做得足够完备体面了：坦然接受埃斯蒂尼安准备留在军队的决定（并不足够坦然）、忍受动辄几个月的分离（实际上常在网上交谈）、经历了漫长的边缘性行为阶段（接近三年）、维持着发乎情止乎礼的边界（坚持婚前不纳入）、并在今晚埃斯蒂尼安突然从公司把他掳走带回家开始放黄片时保持了足够地礼貌与理解。
而埃斯蒂尼安也有自己的一套逻辑链，他认为，如果有这么个人总是喜欢粘过来亲他、摸他、拥抱他、用手指或者道具让他高潮，却又从来不插入他，那么事实其实不难联想：这个人的性功能毋庸置疑存在某种方面的问题。
