Chris makes a noise like if ‘fuck you and your shirt’ was just a single sound and kicks at his shin with a bare foot. “Take yours off,” he counters, as if that’s even a good counter, and Nick lifts his arm to glower at him in response.

Nick peers at her around his phone.
“We’re sixteen.”
She rolls her eyes. “Not now, obviously. When we’re older. Like, twenty-five.”
He blinks blankly for a few seconds, then locks his phone and drops it to the side. “We’re siblings,” he reminds, because that seems pretty important to mention. “I’m pretty sure it’s illegal.”
“We’ll move to Spain,” the girl says flippantly. “Or France.”
