Summary
A strangled sob catches in her throat as Rumi breathlessly runs. Tears stream down her face, her hair’s out of place, patterns on show, but for now, she doesn’t care. Not anymore. It was all for nothing anyway. She doesn’t even know where she’s going. It doesn’t matter, so long as it’s somewhere – anywhere – that wasn’t back there again. Back where her two most beloved friends had stood heartbroken and stung, their shimmering blue weapons drawn. The looks on their faces… oh, it’d been too much. All that disappointment. All that hate. She deserved it, all of it, but even so, Rumi can’t— can’t think of it, can’t bear it.
You’ve never been enough for them, don’t you see?
---
After her demonic reveal to Zoey and Mira, Rumi spirals and unleashes her demon powers.

Summary
Sharp, cold wind bites at air-dried, taut skin. Air whistles, a shrill screech against her eardrums as the train hurtles down its destined track to oblivion. Animalistic snarls and guttural sounds snicker ahead. Through bruised splitting pink cracks, hordes of demons continue to spill in, their blackened claws tearing at the fraying threads of the Honmoon. Instinctively, Rumi’s grip tightens at the sight, knuckles drawing white, yet her sword feels heavier within her hands. It’s a recurring theme lately, something she’s noticed in the last few battles they’ve faced. Her ever-faithful companion burdens her now, lagging behind, its blade and raw power aching, unwilling and unsure.
Or, maybe, it’s the other way round.
---
Rumi gets hurt during the fight on the train.

Summary
For the first time since her rescue, Marcy weeps. Tears stream down her face, and if she weren’t already sitting, Sasha knows Marcy would’ve dropped to the floor, distraught. The sight is… awful and strange. It’s reminiscent of the throne room before her world tilted, carpet pulled from under her feet. But then Marcy raises their conjoined hands, pressing her lips to the back of Sasha’s like an unspoken apology and something inside her breaks.
---
After the events of their Amphibian journey, the trio are taken to the hospital to be treated for their injuries. The problem? Sasha’s struggling with sleep and turns out, so is Marcy.

Summary
Something’s bothering you though. It’s strange being here again. A night in the Clocktower. Tucked under blankets, a warmth radiating from a body resting blissfully beside you. Another two beds are taken too, occupied with soft snores and deep, restful breaths. Your family, of course. You, however, remain sleepless.
In your heart, the reason behind it shimmers to the surface. You know why. For the sleepless night. This endless routine. After all, you’ve been here multiple times before, so much that you’ve almost lost track.
---
The party rest at the Clocktower after breaking out of the loops. Siffrin can't sleep.

Summary
Asking someone to the dance shouldn’t be this hard, should it?
Pitiful: the way Anne silently squirms even now, her arms crossed protectively over her chest, masking an air of patient indifference. Still, it doesn’t help. Nothing’s enough to stow the bubbling turmoil quelling in her stomach.
This is silly. Stupid, even. It shouldn’t be such a big deal.
---
It's Frog Valley's Annual Flower Dance and Anne only wants to dance with one person.

Summary
Anne doesn’t know why she’d readily agreed to this.
Thick, stagnant air weighs heavily on her shoulders, a wretched pressure-cooker heat overwhelming her. It’s been like this for hours whilst traipsing through Wartwood’s outskirting forest – well, further out, her heat-addled mind thinks. If she recalls correctly, the carefully sketched map she’d seen earlier had said Mold Rot Forest which, from the rotten dead fall and decaying trees, sounds about right.
---
Anne joins Marcy on a trip to the lake but they find something much bigger than they'd expected.

Summary
Like the gentle warmth of a morning’s sunrise, Marcy greets her on the horizon.
Truthfully, she hadn’t expected to see Marcy anytime soon or, if she was completely honest, ever again. Of course, there’d been a sliver of hope that their paths would cross once more – it’s a small world after all – but after staying together in the mountain shelter for what felt like days, their bubbled moment of time alone had shattered. A sharp pop of stark reality with the world rushing back in, whisking them away, back into their own lives as though nothing had ever happened in the first place.
---
Whilst working her job at the mountain park, Anne meets Marcy again after the storm and this time, she's the one who falls. Ranger AU.

Summary
There’s every possibility that this is undoubtedly a trap. Anne’s not stupid; It’s hard to avoid the clear warning signs lying in plain sight. It doesn’t matter.
If there is even the slightest chance to save Marcy, they have to take it.
---
A retelling of Fight or Flight but it’s the original theory that the old friend Anne was going to try and rescue from one of Andrias' robot camps was Marcy - albeit the Marcy she finds, isn't the one she knows.

Summary
Their first kiss hadn’t been long after they’d met, Marcy remembers.
Even now, Marcy doesn’t know why she thinks of it. Not when they’re both thousands of miles apart and she’s the one left alone in a hollowed empty room, one that doesn’t feel like home.
---
3 times Marcy and Anne kiss as friends and 1 time they kiss as something more.

After the fight in All In, Sasha’s and Marcy’s injuries are worse than expected.

Summary
Marcy’s breath is laboured. It's a hoarse and weakened sound, one that Anne’s not used to as she crouches on her knees by her fallen friend’s side, ignoring the way her bones dig uncomfortably into the ground, her dry and battered skin pinching into the cracked, broken tiles.
---
In the aftermath of the fight in All In, Anne watches as Marcy rests.

Summary
Sparrow had warned him, in a moment of lucidity he thinks, he’d warned his brother that it wouldn’t be long before he catches whatever wretched infection that’d wreaked havoc through his body – after all, it’d been Lark who’d been at his beck and call throughout the whole time he’d been ill.
Maybe that’s why seeing him as he is now, perched at the edge of his bed with a big fluffy blanket wrapped around his shoulders, body shaking as he coughs and splutters, Sparrow’s heart sinks.
---
Sparrow looks after Lark when he falls sick.

Summary
It’s hard to understand but Anne knows love. She is, after all, a true romantic and a great enjoyer of the genre, possibly even – dare she say – a self-proclaimed expert.
Anne doesn’t know love though, not in the same way.
---
Anne thinks of love and of how complicated and unfair it is.

Summary
Through the voice of your mother – and soon after her passing, your sister – hope had been weaved ever so cleverly and carefully into all those stories they used to read aloud, allowing you to drift away into a peaceful slumber, head filled with hopeful dreams.
But that’s all they ever were. Fairytales. Stories. Make-believe.

Ruby learns that everything she’s done, and everything she is, is more than enough.

Summary
Trust goes two ways or so you thought.
You’d thought nothing of it, not at first at least. King Andrias – no, just Andrias – had seemed like a friendly, like-minded soul at the time. There was an air of familiarity to him, a sense of trust, maybe even, a reflection of yourself perhaps and he’d treated you with a kindness you’d not come to expect.
---
Marcy’s thoughts around trust and trusting others.

Summary
Anne only sees the person she wants to be. Something more than she’s ever been – a person to look up to, someone to rely on and maybe, for a small and kind pink frog who’s taught her so much and means everything to her; a hero.
But like every hero, there is no rest; there’s still one last thing she has to do.
---
Marcy and Sasha refuse to leave Anne during The Hardest Thing.

Summary
It’s dark when she opens her eyes.
Or, at least, Marcy thought she’d opened them. She’s not sure of anything anymore. The big things: time, space, the inbetween. Even smaller: where, what, how. It’s gone. All of it.
---
When The Core took over Marcy's body, it wasn't just her physical control she needed to be worried about. What if The Core stole her memories as well?

Summary
Though she’s made her peace somewhat with their amphibian adventure, she’d assumed that the journal had been lost. She never expected it to be held onto, lovingly looked after as a gentle reminder, a keepsake, a memento.
---
During one of the girls meet-ups, Marcy gets her journal back and recovers a page she thought she’d torn out.

Summary
Feeling slowly starts to return to you. First with a dull but pounding headache that no matter how hard you wish it away, refuses to leave. A reminder of a small price to pay in the grand scheme of things – for what exactly, you don’t know.
---
Anne gives herself up for the world she loves - and then wakes up.
