A Modern day Merlin AU set at the University of St Andrews, featuring teetotal kickboxers, secret wizards, magnificent bodyguards of various genders, irate fairies, imprisoned dragons, crumbling gothic architecture, arrogant princes, adorable engineering students, stolen gold, magical doorways, attempted assassination, drunken students, shaving foam fights, embarrassing mornings after, The Hammer Dance, duty, responsibility, friendship and true love...
This story was inspired by the thought of Prince William of Wales (and indeed the current Max von Hapsburg) studying at the University of St Andrews; it is also, as the title suggests, at least a little inspired by the operetta 'The Student Prince'.

::2019 note: This story was written BEFORE the TV show introduced the character of Gwaine. It's not that I can't spell, or that I'm perversely writing him out of character - I incorporated other characters from Arthurian legend (Kay, Gawain etc) into my story, and lacking prophetic abilities, my versions naturally don't mesh with the versions subsequently introduced into the show.::

“Come on, you’re telling me you wouldn’t consider sneaking into a storage closet with me?”
“Obviously, I would!” Eddie was whisper-yelling now, and Buck wasn’t sure exactly what point he was trying to make, but he was enjoying every second of this. “But one of us is going to have to have restraint and it has to be the—the one with the most experience.”
Buck felt his mouth drop open in delight. “Eddie,” he admonished. “Are you calling me a whore?”
“No!” said Eddie, looking increasingly flustered. “I just mean—clearly you have the power to do—” he gestured at Buck, “that, so you have the—the responsibility to, like, use it. Responsibly.”
“Did you just quote Spiderman?”
Eddie propped his elbows on the table and dropped his head into his hands, groaning dramatically. “I’m going to die. The first date, and I’m going to die.”
“Been there, wouldn’t recommend it.”

Summary
Arthur awoke from death as though it were a thirteen-century long dream. Slowly, his memories return to him as he makes the journey to find shelter. He falls into the care of a man who is unlike Merlin in nearly every way... save his face and his air. He's even taken up a wife. Soon, Arthur starts to remember more aspects of his previous life, while Merlin seems to have all but forgotten his.
What will happen when Arthur starts to make him remember the time before?

Buck meets Chris on the pier when he gets separated from his babysitter, and they go through the tsunami together. Buck is still separated from Chris, but not for long. They reunite before finding Eddie, who knows Chris was at the pier."Buck doesn’t know why he ends up at the pier. After Maddie convinced him to get out of bed and into the world, he tried to think of happy places.
A pier full of smiling families may not have been the best choice for his mood.
After finding out the truth about Daniel, Buck has been, for lack of a better term, stuck.
He feels stagnated in life. Sure, he loves his job, and his sister, and his friends at the station. But lately, Buck thinks he’s missing something in his life."
