Summary
Jensen's a firefighter sent into a forest fire in California to clear come cabins when he finds something unexpected: a very scared and also very pregnant Jared, who is also in labor.
Jared's on the run from his ex. He's scared & trying to protect his unborn child from a life of pain and abuse like he's known when he meets a man very unlike any he's ever known before.
Surviving the fire is just the start of things between them because while Jensen wants to protect Jared and his son from his abusive ex the involvement also brings back dark memories that the firefighter would much rather forget.
Can Jensen finally overcome the pain and loss he's buried to start a new life with Jared or will secrets and forgotten danger burn their chances for happiness?

Summary
Jared's a cop in a small Texas town. He comes from a well known and wealthy family but wants to make it on his own when he can. He knows if he has a weakness it's his soft heart...a soft heart that takes a hit when he finally meets his new neighbors.
Jensen came from money but when he refused his family's demands to give up his child he was kicked out and disowned. Now on his own with a six-month old baby he struggles to survive in a new town with very little money, no help and he just lost his job.
When the two men meet one night the attraction is plain but Jared can see that Jensen's past has left him scared and also wary so it's with baby steps he begins to help this young father to heal & also to learn that he isn't like those who'd hurt him...until a piece of his past returns to possibly cost them everything.

Summary
"I need somebody with two strong arms." The man's weather-worn face tightens in scrutiny, eyeing Jensen's build. "Don't hurt to have a truck neither."
Jensen's truck is all he's got outside of too many scars and too few dollars in his wallet. Green paint on the old Chevy is wearing through in places; it's got too many bangs and scratches; it ain't worth a repair shop's time.
"So long as you're willing to work and get your hands dirty, I'll take you on."
Jensen stops worrying at the cuffs of his shirt long enough to shake the farmer's hand.
"I'm your man."
It was the summer that made coming back to life worthwhile. Based off of 'Farmer's Daughter', which is a terrible, terrible country song.
