Sirius Black wasn't a jealous man.
However, when Remus returned to their shared dormitory in Gryffindor Tower one evening with a faint smile on his face, a blush on his cheeks, and glowing eyes, Sirius was overcome by a strange, unfamiliar feeling. He compared it to the pain he'd felt during his last Quidditch match, having been hit squarely in the stomach with a Bludger. For a moment, his breath caught, he curled in on himself and bit his jaw, letting the pain course through his already exhausted body. That feeling eventually passed, though (right after Madam Pomfrey had given him one of her potions), but now he felt it only intensify with each passing moment. And potions weren't likely to help him here.

“I’m telling you, nothing’s wrong, so why the hell are you pushing it?” he hissed through clenched teeth, glaring at Regulus. Regulus held his gaze, though he could feel his throat tightening.
"Because I know you, and I can tell when something's wrong," Regulus barely finished his sentence when James suddenly burst into a laugh so terrifying that Regulus took a step back, alarmed.
"You think you know me?!" James mocked, raising his voice. "You really think that? Then you’re so fucking wrong!" he was now shouting, waving his arms and slowly advancing toward Regulus with fury in his eyes. "You don’t know me! You don’t know a fucking thing about me, except that I’m your brother’s friend and I have a big dick!"
"That’s not true..." Regulus began, still maintaining a calm tone.
"Oh yeah?! Then go ahead, I’d love to hear what you think you know about me!"
Regulus took a deep breath, trying to calm his heart, which was already pounding wildly. He closed his eyes, gathering his thoughts, then looked at James with determination.
