“I don’t understand what I’m doing so wrong,” Ei mumbles, mostly to herself. “How can finding a woman’s ring size be this difficult? Is this a trial all suitors must go through to show their devotion?”
Sara lets out a short laugh. It surprises both of them. Ei turns her attention to Sara, eyebrows raised high in both curiosity and amusement, and Sara sobers up.
“I don’t think finding a woman’s ring size to be difficult,” Sara says quietly, “but I do think that it is different from finding Guuji Yae’s.”
Or, Ei struggles to ask Yae a certain question.

Summary
In more than one way, Kafka was a terrible girlfriend. To say she was unconventional is a severe understatement. She was calculating (to the point that one could call her manipulative). She had a biting tongue and didn't hold back in the slightest when spitting venom. She had a twisted sense of humor and would often scare Himeko on purpose, just to get a jump or a scream out of her. She hid her emotions behind layers and layers of walls, and you had to pry them apart with your bare hands, just to get a glimpse of her true feelings.
She never overstepped a boundary, but god, did she enjoy testing its limits, poking and prodding until Himeko wanted to grind her teeth to dust in frustration.
That was Kafka. Beautiful, terrible, and infuriating, Kafka.
