a girl awakes in a graveyard. this, on its own, is not unusual. many girls awake in many graveyards every day. perhaps it’s not common, but there are eight billion people in the world. someone has to get unlucky every once in a while.

or: a greek girl with a tendency to faint at all the wrong times comes to japan for work, but is soon brought into the borderlands, facing down death every day in her own unusual fashion. fotini is not particularly brave, but as soon as she's thrown into danger she dissociates. morality is a bit less complicated when your body believes you're in a dream, and courage isn't needed when you aren't afraid in the first place.
enter chishiya, who ends up being far more intrigued by her than he ever would've guessed. how can someone so easy going and emotive breeze through some of the worst games the borderlands has to offer with ease? and why does she keep fainting on him?
