Above him, Max’s brow furrows. He’s pink cheeked and sweaty, still kind of petulant about his race. “Fuck off.”
He looks kind of offended, but he has to know it’s true. In the three times they’ve fucked over the last three years, Max has improved objectively very little.
Charles doesn’t mind that though. “It’s okay,” he coos, “you can’t be good at everything, cheri.”
“Yes, I can.” Max pulls away with a groan, shifting Charles’ leg back over his arm. He’s frowning now, and Charles adores it. “Want to be though, want to make it good for you.”
With that, he redoubles his efforts but it’s almost worse. He better be thanking his lucky stars that Charles keeps having sex with him anyway.

Or, in 2016, Charles and Max hook up. It’s not very good. Charles lets him try again. And again. And again.

“I don’t…” Oscar started but quickly shut himself up again. He couldn’t say it. However, Carlos’ intense stare, a silent demand to continue speaking, made Oscar part his lips again. “I don’t… know why I like it so much.”
It was a whispered confession that felt louder than sirens going off.
“Good thing I do,” Carlos replied, continuing to bore holes into Oscar, who felt like a deer in headlights. “You like it so much because you enjoy feeling like a girl occasionally… like my girl, to be specific.”
Oscar let out a huff. This was ridiculous. There was no way he would ever want to feel like Carlos' … girl.

Carlos doesn’t know what gets into him. Really. If someone asked him what’s wrong with him, he couldn’t answer, because…well. Normally, he isn’t one for listening to his intrusive thoughts. He is collected, judicious, the adultier adult to whom looking up to for advice or a spare Kleenex, that kind of adultier adult. Still, when Oscar fucking Piastri gets in his peripheral, all bright smiles and artificious sheepishness, Carlos can’t help but follow the malicious advice of a cutting, rabid voice inside his brain, telling him to pin the brat up against the wall and instill a little respect for his elders into his saintly little head.
Following the Miami race, Carlos ends up venting his frustrations against the very guy who has purposefully caused them.
