Summary
A year has passed since the defeat of the absolute. A heartbroken Zeydri dwells in Waterdeep, consumed by grief under Gale's worried eye. One day, she receives a letter scribed in spidersilk.
Minthara's siege against Menzoberranzan continues, but her army is losing ground. She needs a champion, a surface-dwelling Drow who can bring light to her people, who once brought light to her. Uncertain but with nothing to lose, Zeydri descends to Menzoberranzen collapsed by war to save her ancestral home she never knew.
