They bid Sam and Colby a shaky goodbye at almost two in the morning. It’s dark, cold, and Phil’s terrified and trembling. He had fun, of course. A lot of fun, not the most fun he’s ever had, but still.
Dan stands beside Phil, his shoulder lightly resting against his. He gives Phil a concerned look. Having been together for sixteen and a half years, Dan can tell something’s wrong.
Sam and Colby, however, are still buzzed from the ghost hunting experience. They don’t notice how pale Phil is, how bad his hands are shaking. Sam and Colby both shaking, too, but from excitement.

Phil smiled and then put his pumpkin in the bag. Just before he went out the curtains again, he turned around and gave Dan a small wave. Too embarrassed to be caught staring yet again, he simply looked down at the counter.
Immediately after Phil left the tent, he buried his face in his hands. That was just his luck, of course the guy of his dreams would walk into his pumpkin tent, and he made a fool of himself. And as if that wasn’t bad enough, now he would never see him again.

And if their annoyingly attractive new bodyguard happens to be a little too friendly with Phil, while people keep asking, "Is Phil single?", then surely Dan is allowed to react.
That still doesn't make him jealous.
