    Mike has always been the protector. It’s his job, his oath. But nothing could prepare him for this. Nothing could prepare him for having to take the life of the boy he loves more than anything just to save the world he doesn't even think is worth saving.
    Even in death, Will repays him. Selfless, as always. And even in grief, Mike survives. Because Will’s last words are a command. Not a task. It’s a spell. It’s impossible. It’s love. And Mike must obey even though he doesn’t want to. He shouldn’t be alive, not without him. And sometimes love is crueler than death.

    OR: Mike has to kill Will and in Will's final breath, he casts protection on Mike, refusing to let him die.
