    Alhaitham was born without a soulmate mark on his wrist. He didn't pay it much mind, had long learned to not care for such things, and then there was Senior Kaveh.

    “Come here,” Kaveh muttered, sitting up only to reach for his nightstand. Alhaitham approached slowly and Kaveh took his wrist with one hand, pushing the sleeve up. He’d picked a marker up on the desk and slowly, with loopy cursive handwriting, he wrote out his name into his skin.

    Alhaitham pulled it back, staring at it. He didn’t know what to do, and Kaveh took his silence as reassurance, pushing the marker into his hand. He pulled the sleeve on his right wrist back in turn, holding it out to him like an offering.

    With a small smile, Kaveh tilted his head to the side. “Heart the ‘i,’ would you?”
