Summary
When Regulus Black was eighteen years and two months old, he disappeared from his parents’ home in the middle of the night. With his newly acquired inheritance money, he legally changed his name, started HRT, and finally chopped off those god-awful tits he had the terrible misfortune of being born with.
He’s twenty-five now, and has managed to stay under the radar and out of his parents’ reach ever since he left. That is, until he receives a particularly suspicious and damning letter at his apartment that’s surely from one of the desks of The Most Ancient and Noble House of Black, immediately sending him into flight mode.
When his best friend Pandora mentions that her friend’s friend is looking for someone to hire, any and all benefits included, Regulus recognizes the perfect opportunity for a hiding place. There were only two problems:
1) His boss is extremely famous (and downright gorgeous) actor James Potter, who isn’t only Regulus’ long-term celebrity crush, but his estranged brother’s best friend.
2) The job is as James’ son’s au pair, and Regulus doesn’t know the first thing about taking care of a child.

Summary
In canon, the Mckinnon's are murdered in July of 1981, a couple months before James and Lily. Dorcas dies "after the second half of 1981, before the war ended", so between July and October, 1981.

The four-by-four heaves its way down long, twisting lanes, little more than dirt tracks scuffed into the surrounding fields and hemmed in by serpentine walls of flat, grey stone. They truly are in the middle of nowhere: the countryside rushes past, all rolling green hills and vast, endless skies, and it's odious. Sirius wants to murder James with his bare hands.
Sirius and James accidentally find themselves on a Yorkshire farm during lambing season. The farmer’s son thinks that’s a bit annoying, actually.

Summary
It's lovely up here; all meadows dotted with wildflowers, wind-beaten tracks criss-crossing this way and that through the fields, weaving inland to the pinewoods. The sun's hot on his back as he passes ramshackle stone walls, long since crumbled to piles of ancient rubble and scree, and then the path winds downwards, still following the line of the coast until Sirius finds himself outside an old white cottage, tucked away behind the hill with a rose garden that faces out to the sea.
Sirius moves to Cornwall for the summer and meets a rude, beautiful boy who is writing a book that may or may not be about dragons.
