Summary
"The Hanahaki Disease is an illness caused by unrequited love. The sufferer coughs up flower petals until they are either loved back or die. The infection can be removed with surgery, but the feelings and memories disappear along with the petals."
Slamming the bathroom door behind him, Hajime tries his best to make it to the toilet, but he's too late. There is a sickening feeling of something sliding up and out of his throat, and Hajime covers his mouth with both hands, not wanting to vomit all over Oikawa’s white tiles.
The vomit never comes.
When he pulls his hand back and looks, all that sits in his palm is one pale-blue orchid petal, partially stained red with his own blood.

Summary
Hanahaki Disease is what Oikawa read. An illness born from one-sided love, where the patient throws up and coughs up flower petals when they suffer from one-sided love. The infection can be removed through surgery, but the feelings disappear along with the petals.
He had been thinking since the day he rang Kuroo up in a fit with orange flowers clogging his throat that maybe it’s not as bad as I thought. -

Summary
“This one first,” Oikawa jabs at page 3, top bullet point.
Hanamaki skims over it. “You can't be serious.”
Oikawa nods.
“You are… a child.”
Oikawa grins widely.
“I’m looking forward to your support.”Life is good. Oikawa is killing it at his job in Tokyo, gets to play volleyball with friends after work, and has even just moved in with Iwaizumi. So what if he's been pining for years and just now contracted some weird... flower-cough-thing? There are, what, 28 days at least to figure it out.
1. Win Iwaizumi's heart. 2. Get that sweet, sweet, reciprocated love. 3. ???? 4. Profit.
In which Hanahaki is for defeatists, and Oikawa has everything under control (but also the mental maturity of a 12-year-old).

Summary
Hanahaki Disease is an illness born from unrequited love, where the patient’s lungs will fill up with flowers, they will then proceed to throw and cough up the petals.
There are only two known ways to get rid of Hanahaki
One, get the person who the patient is in love with to return said feelings
Or two, have the surgery. The only problem with the surgery? It removes all feelings for the love interest.
Though, it could also remove the patient's ability to feel love ever again or even completely erase their love interest from their mind.
Unfourntanly, many people would rather choose suffocation and death then not loving someone.
And Hanamaki Takahiro seems to be suffering from just that, over his best friend and partner in crime, Matsukawa Issei. Soon the inevitable choice between life and death arises and Hanamaki must make his choice. One that could cost him his life.
