Summary
Viktor turns back to the window. The tree outside sways slightly in the wind. “I was just thinking about spring,” he says in lieu of moving like Jayce wants him to. He feels Jayce lean his weight against the sill.
“What about spring?”
Viktor gestures vaguely to his stomach, where the buttons of his shirt are starting to strain from the swell. “She’ll be born in spring, I suppose. If the midwife is right.”
He feels Jayce still, just the slightest bit. “She?”
“Ah…” Viktor hesitates, then shrugs. “No, I’m not sure yet. Just… feeling things out. I would love them either way.”
Jayce’s hands find his, warm fingers curling over Viktor’s knuckles. “So would I,” he says, voice soft and reverent. “I can’t wait for spring to come.”
A knot loosens in Viktor, and he exhales, something settling in his chest. He understands what Jayce means. I can’t wait to meet her.

Kudo pulled away before he did something stupid and thoughtless to All for One’s innocent, wide-eyed little brother.

For a fleeting moment you see the age in his eyes, tender and nostalgic as though he were the old man he once claimed to be, looking back upon misplaced yet beloved photographs of times long past.
G'raha turns his arm to regard the arcane eye painted there. The deep hue is stark against the azure of his body. "I shall wash them off in the morning, but for now I enjoy being able to see my old markings again."
"You seem more upset than anything," you counter cautiously, the unspoken question evident in your voice.
"’Tis difficult to put into words. Memory is not always without mourning, and mourning is not always an act of grief." G'raha looks down into his tea, tracing a crystal finger along the curve of the ceramic mug. The faint scratching sound it makes is nearly deafening. "Tis good to remember how it felt to fly before I clipped my wings."

"A couple of the neighborhood children pass by the picket fence beyond his garden and Izuku’s heart constricts in his chest. He follows them with his eyes, lingering on their tiny, laughing faces as they adjust the straps on their backpacks and tumble after each other to catch the bus. Izuku quickly brushes the tears from his eyes and stares down into the sink, plunging his hands back into the hot, soapy water as he tries not to think about what could have been."
Izuku's life is almost perfect. There's just one thing missing.
