"A fucking email?!" Soobin tears right into him, not caring that the younger man is clearly groggy with sleep. "I get a fucking email?!"
"Soobinie," His boyfriend whispers to the receiver, sighing tiredly, but then his resignation turns into indignation. "Do you have any idea what time it is?"
"It's a clobbering time, that's what time it is!" Soobin seethes. "Why didn't you call to tell me this shit, Kai?"
"Because I knew you'd be angry," Kai defends his choice of action petulantly.
"For future reference: knowing that what you have to say will upset me is precisely the reason why you should call to tell me, not say it in a goddamn email."
(There is no doubt in Soobin's mind that his relationship with Kai is the most important thing in his life, and instinctively he decides that everything has to make way for them to be together. All Soobin wants for his life is to be with Kai – for a hundred days, even for more than that, he yearned to just be with him again. Why would Soobin ever sacrifice that for a one-in-a-million chance at becoming an artist?

Summary
Soobin is absolutely floating, back to the locker room to get a shower and get changed, on his bike to work, and then at the animal clinic. But the floating turns into sinking… because, well, here's the list:
1) Soobin's never thought about liking guys before, and now he thinks he does, because he does like Kai, and Kai is definitely a guy, but he's really pretty and Soobin likes likes him. That's sort of a big realization to have.
2) It's Kai, his ride-or-die, his best friend since childhood, and also Soobin's first, well, real kiss. And they didn't really define what they were when the left school. Soobin doesn't want to mess this up.
3) The problem with the darkness haunting Kai is still a problem and it's driving him crazy.

Summary
Kai, the son of a past European general, lives in the country side of Germany. Their leaders viewed them as outlaws/outcasts due to Kai’s fathers actions in the last war which led him to retirement. Kai’s mother was killed in the last war and his sisters married off as peace offerings, not like they had much choice. Kai is all his father has left and since they’ve been cast away, he’s all Kai has too. So when their town is suddenly being controlled by Korean military men, Kai is told to stay away, to be cautious of the new foreigners who’ve hurt their people before, they’d do it again. But Kai is half of them and he attracts the interest of the military kids sons, more specifically Choi Soobin.

Lia remained pointedly silent.
"I made myself look like an ass today, didn't I?" Soobin said after some time, his shoulders slumping with the admittance.
"You did," Lia said. "Well done, brother. You actually acknowledge it. Bravo." She clapped her hands for effect but stopped when Soobin sent her a sour look over his shoulder.
or alternatively known as that fic where Crown Prince Choi Soobin tries to court foreign omega Huening Kai but the latter is totally ignoring all of his advances and he's two seconds away from losing his mind.
