Your sister’s voice continues down the phone, oblivious to the tension crackling in your kitchen. “I mean, I get it,” she says. “He’s got that bad-boy, tortured-genius vibe. And those cheekbones, Y/N…”
“Stop,” you snap, sharper than you intended. The word cracks through the call like a whip, and there’s a beat of silence on the other end.
“What?” she asks, laughing nervously. “I’m just saying, people are weird, and the internet is even weirder. Anyway, are you okay? It’s kind of freaky that he’s still out there. Makes you think he could be anywhere.”
Your stomach churns violently, and your eyes flick back to him. He’s still watching you, his smirk faded into something quieter—something more dangerous. He tilts his head slightly, lifting one hand in a mock little wave.
You glare at him and turn your back, facing the far wall as if you can physically distance yourself from his presence.
