    In his best attempt to keep up, Jean was consequently struck by a car. If anything, he was more humiliated that he was outsmarted and caught off guard than he was concerned about any injuries. After limping to a phone booth to call the station and request someone to pick him up, he insisted on being able to make it to the lazareth by himself, fuck off, he can take care of himself, goddamnit.

    Naturally, on his way to Nix’s office, his knee buckled and he fell, promptly shattering his fibula. After sending him off to the hospital to get a cast, Judit, who had been tasked with chauffeuring, helped him to his apartment, bought him groceries and promised to come check on him regularly.
