Summary
Iceland can look green and lush, a warm breeze blowing through like she had imagined, but only if you visit in the summer, and not in October of all months. The mountains were shining white in the sun and covered in a thick coat of snow, the air sharper than she’d imagined. But the waterfalls, they were even more magical in person. Something inside of her seemed to click when she arrived, a deep sense of calm settling in her soul.

Truth be told, she hadn’t meant to wait exactly eleven years.
The days are long but peaceful. It took a while—almost two years, to be precise—for the tension to release from her muscles. To finally relax within the walls of her small apartment, or out under the Icelandic sun, and no longer feel as though she is being hunted, watched. She had to remind herself, actively, waking up in the middle of the night in a cold sweat with a frightful whimper or a wanting name on her lips, that Hawkins was some three thousand miles away. That no one is looking for a girl named Eleanor Iverson in Hella, Iceland.

Summary
Peter’s life feels like clockwork. He spends the day at his normal job, volunteers at FEAST three times a week, and patrols most evenings. He does everything he can to not be home alone with his thoughts, too worried that the feeling like a failure will seep in the longer he’s alone.
It's only when Ricardo, the manager of FEAST, provides an update that Peter realizes he's spiraling.
