Kazuma can feel the true length of forever stretching out in front of them in the ensuing hollow silence. In two or twenty or forty years, still sleeping upwards of fourteen hours a day, still dealing with pain splitting his head open, still struggling to organize his thoughts. Still forgetting, and forgetting, and forgetting, retreading the same steps ad nauseam. Like God is at his shoulder, mocking: This is what you get for cheating death.

Summary
Tenna was on the decline.
If he wanted to keep his name in lights, he would be forced to get a little help from an up and coming big name in Cyber City. While not particularly impressed by their first meeting, Tenna knows that this “Spamton” fella was his best chance of getting with the times or risk being left behind.
All he needed was a little guidance and all of that little mailman’s secrets to success. He would bring him in, give him a little sweet talk, stroke his ego, and get the guy to sing like a canary.
He’d been in this business a long time, while Spamton was just getting started.
This would be too easy, he thought.
But soon, he would realize that Spamton was a more worthy rival than he’d first suspected, looking to take just as much from him and more. The question was: who would win?

There's a wispy voice in Kazuma's head that cries out in want of reciprocation. To know that he isn't the only one here that feels like they've lost some of their grip on their mind when they think about the other. He ghosts his hand up Ryunosuke's arm, settling against his neck. His thumb just grazes the edge of his jaw.

When Ryuunosuke swore something he always followed through, and with his most recent correspondence held with anticipation, Kazuma recalled that initial promise back with a smile so large it hardly fit his face. The ship would pull into the harbor in three weeks, and with the prosecutor’s workload as light as a feather, he decided to reminisce on the year and half of letters that sat in the drawers of his nightstand, taking up the first he’d received.
