It had barely been a year since Newton had been transferred to the Hong Kong Shatterdome’s K-Science division, and yet Hermann had filed enough complaints about him to fill a file cabinet. Tensions were running high, especially with the rest of K-Sci gone and funding being continuously cut, and so it was only a matter of time until one of them went a step too far. Hermann just hadn’t expected for the one at fault to be himself.

Hermann had generated nearly one hundred different things he could’ve seen during his drift with Newton. He had, after all, been given a vague, but still somewhat fleshed-out, idea of what he might find lying around the man’s brain. What he found far exceeded his expectations, and he comes out of it realising that out of the two of them, Newton has always been the more secretive one after all.

After the nature of Newt and Hermann’s relationship is revealed to the Gang, they all decide they have some questions that they want to ask, some related to the relationship, the majority not. Some of these questions are easier (and more comfortable) to answer than others, especially seeing as the Gang seems to have no concept of personal boundaries. Some things never change.

Dennis, still laughing, less from yesterday's events and more from the absurdity of it, was slow to read the room. Charlie's words drawled, his lips shiny and bitten red, not at all indicating he'd said anything worth note.
"You have an uncle?" Dennis wheezed. It wasn't until he looked to the backseat and saw Mac, wide eyed, obviously sobered by whatever Charlie just said, that Dennis realized it wasn't funny.
