Summary
Scheduled to work on the big day, the 118 gather for an early Christmas celebration, with Buck and Eddie working hard to keep their relationship under wraps.
Buck picked up a bottle, squinting to read its label in the poor light.
“Found anything good?”
Eddie.
“I have now,” Buck returned with a flash of a smile. “What are you doing down here? Shouldn’t you be up there raking in the monopoly money with your overpowered row of hotels?”
“A series of horrific financial decisions led to a very quick and unforeseen bankruptcy,” Eddie revealed, moving a few steps closer.
“You threw the game,” Buck caught on.
“So I could sneak off and spend the remainder of the game time in a cold cellar with my boyfriend? Pfft, I would never.”
Buck’s smile widened the same way it did every time Eddie referred to him as his boyfriend. It had been a couple of months, he should be used to it, yet the effect it had on him refused to diminish.
“Oh, I’m sure,” Buck returned.
The bottle of wine found its way back to the shelf. The wine could wait. There were more important things to attend to.Winter of Buddie Week Three: Holiday History

Summary
Christopher is ready to speak to Eddie about returning home, and in doing so provides some newly acquired fourteen-year-old wisdom which has Eddie realising he has been approaching this dating thing with the wrong mindset.
“I don’t need another mom.”
Christopher’s words echoed in Eddie’s head and suddenly it seemed so obvious. He’d been so wrapped up in finding some secondary parental figure in his dating life, someone to step up when he failed, that he hadn’t spotted the one who had so naturally slipped into their lives; the person he trusted most with his son, the very man he had entered in his will as Christopher’s legal guardian should anything happen to him.
Buck was always there for Christopher; for advice, jokes, a shoulder to cry on, anything he needed, Buck either had it or found a way to get it. He was there for every birthday and almost every school event, and he’d never shielded away from the hard stuff.Or, the one where Christopher takes a leaf out of Maddie’s book with subtle hints dropped into conversation and Eddie, unlike Buck, actually takes them.

Summary
Our love is like the stars - unseen during the day but always there, waiting for the night to shine.
Buck's journey to Eddie, as told through stories of the stars."In space, there are things called binary star systems; two stars locked in orbit around each other, bound to one another in a gravitational two-step, so close to one another that from Earth, the two stars appear as one but, when studied closer through a telescope, are revealed to be a pair."
“Did you swallow an astronomy book?” Chimney jested.
Buck shrugged, “Something like that.”
Chimney leaned in closer, and when he spoke, it was almost conspiratorial, “So, how about you?”
Buck narrowed his eyes, “How about me, what?”
“Have you got your own binary star?”
“Floating around somewhere out there in the vastness of space?” Buck proposed, glancing out his window at the world beyond, and sighed, “One can but hope.”
“Hey, who knows? Maybe they’re closer than you think,” Chimney spoke optimistically and, on Buck’s dubious glance, expanded, “‘Locked in orbit around each other’, isn’t that what you said?”

Summary
Remember the three Fs of parent consultation evening.
No flirting.
No fucking.
No flings.
The texts from Maddie flew in rapidly, an urgent insistence.
It was safe to say he had a history.
His first year of teaching, parent-consultation evening had pleasantly transformed into parent-consultation night, and he'd managed to squeeze in a few appointments.
His second year of teaching, parent-consultation evening had seen him strike up pleasant conversation with mother-of-two Ali Martin.
His third year of teaching, parent-consultation evening was hijacked somewhat by local reporters.
His fourth year of teaching, parent-consultation evening had him learning new things.
His fifth year of teaching, parent-consultation evening was supposed to be uneventful but ended with a break-up.
Onto year six and parent-consultation evening brings him Eddie Diaz.911 Countdown to Christmas Day 13: AU
