Summary
He drops to a crouch, still covering his eyes, while his other hand grips the edge of the pristine counter so hard his knuckles are white, cutting off the blood flow so he can’t feel the tips of his fingers, but he knows they’re cold, and that he’ll have to invest in a heating pad now that there's no one to warm them up.
A hand lands on his shoulder blade, small, thin, and boney. The yellow stains between her fingers become visible to his omnidirectional, subatomic perception at the same time the faint scent of smoke hits his nose, both permeating the flimsy barrier of his humiliated palm pressed tight against his face.
“Breathe,” Shoko commands hoarsely, her voice thinned not by the raspy huskiness of too many cigarettes, but rather the morning-after damage of too many lonely tears wailed into a pillow.
“Go get Yaga,” she says over her shoulder, presumably to Nanami, whose organized presence hangs heavily in the atmosphere once again.

Someone with a little naivete and visual distance might think they were fighting, and the gravelly moan that erupts from Satoru’s core serves that image. Or it would… If the great Satoru Gojo losing was remotely plausible.
Suguru sucks on his neck, not quite hard enough to hurt, but there’s bound to be a hickey there later. Satoru’s back arches against his will. As much as he would prefer to be blasé… He can’t control himself.
“Satoru…” Suguru whispers. He lets go of Satoru’s arm. It lands on his crotch instead.
The heavens and the earth freeze over in an instant. Satoru doesn’t breathe. Suguru stares at him with wide, timorous eyes.
The great Satoru Gojo is a virgin and he has no idea what to do.

“S’rry–” It’s Satoru that breaks the silence, sniffling and wiping his mouth on the backs of his knuckles. “I’m sorry–”
He gags again, the heel of his clean hand meeting his chin this time to catch the mucousy rivulet full of chunks that sticks to his dry, cracking lower lip. The excess runs over the edge of his index finger, a single droplet falling into the mess on the floor, still attached by a thin rope of stretched saliva.
“Here.” Yaga’s crossed the room in a fraction of a second to deliver the mini trash can Suguru should’ve made a run for in the first place. “It’s alright.”
Those words are foreign to hear from their stern, “walk it off”-minded teacher, who’s always bothered by whatever stupidity Satoru conjures up, even when he’s not trying to. Suguru’s known him to place a calloused hand on his shoulder when a curse has him dry-heaving, and he kindly walked Shoko to the medical office when he spotted her feverish, but spewing verbal comfort to the untouchable, unstoppable, unrelenting Satoru Gojo of all people?
Something’s seriously wrong.
