There are two things that Haru knows for sure: one, he is straight and two, illegal adollium trade is in control. "You confuse faith with facts," Daisuke's voice echoes in his head. He conveniently tells the voice in his head to shut the fuck up
Alternatively, everything is a lie and Haru doesn’t know who is right anymore. He has a treacherous heart so sometimes, he just trusts. It will all turn out okay though, it has to.
(Post-canon Haru and Daisuke embark on a case and fall in love.)

It was funny how at first he was hoping that the rich guy could quit the job, or could get moved into another department so he wouldn't have to deal with Daisuke, and yet, when the seat of Daisuke started to be always empty, he hoped to see him writing reports, talking with the others, he simply hoped to see him.

The voice is mellow, flowing like honey, and so, so deep. Haru is dumbstruck at the sound, and it takes a few moments for him to process the fact that he is being addressed.
He straightens up. He’s about to answer mindlessly, unsure if he wants to demand how this freshman knows his name, or simply answer his question with a ‘yes’. Although he isn’t able to do either, as the other speaks again, expression schooled in an immaculately blank manner.
“Congratulations. See you in Class A.”

Piles of paperwork that towered over him at his desk, meetings with princes of other nations that seemed to drag on for hours, the people that kissed the very floor he walked on- all because of a title. And what a pathetic title.
Prince.
Not common enough to be among the villagers, but not powerful enough to affect any real change.
