Summary
Qifrey’s heartbeat seems to exist in every part of him. It’s in his chest, in his throat, in his stomach. A constant, rapid pulse that might destroy him from within in a way the Silverwood never could. Wouldn’t that be ironic? That the most human part of him ends up being the thing that kills him.
Thoughts regarding his inevitable end are pushed aside by the feeling of Olruggio’s palm against his cheek. The warmth of his hand bleeds into Qifrey’s skin, who, rather than pulling away, finds himself leaning forward when Olruggio moves closer. Eyes the color of the night sky beckon him forward and the smell of smoke and cinnamon wraps around him once more.
