Satoru was supposed to heal and leave.
That was the agreement: a broken-winged wyvern seeking shelter in the domain of an old, cruel dragon whose name stirred fear in the bones of lesser beasts. Sukuna had lined his territory in blood and bones, and mercy was not part of his legend.
But days bled into weeks. Wounds healed. The cold stone den grew warmer as winter turned to spring, and then to summer.
And between quiet meals and glances that lingered too long across the flames, Satoru stopped being a trespasser and became something else entirely.

“Do you live out here?” The boy asked, and Sukuna thought for a moment before shrugging. He didn’t live here specifically, but he did live in the woods. “Hmm, cool. I’m Satoru, we’re going to be best friends.” He grinned after that, so wide and blinding that all of his eyes closed, and Sukuna, against his will, thought it was adorable.
He grunted, thinking for a second before muttering “Sukuna,” nodding at the boy. Satoru grinned, finally opening all of his eyes to peer around Sukuna and look at the river, quickly bolting by his shoulder not even a moment later. Sukuna shook his head, chuckling under his breath as he walked towards the other boy, who had already taken purchase next to his hastily-made campfire. He’s intrigued by this boy, he can admit it, and he feels anticipation thrumming under his skin.
As he sits down next to Satoru at the fire, he realizes that this boy was the first person to ever look at him.
He doesn’t know what to do with that.
Or: Sukuna and Satoru fall in love in the Heian Era, and their love transcends a millennium into the modern era
