Summary
"What's that?" Atsushi questions, pointing at the rusty device. It's worn, and there's scratches and dents on the sides. Some kind of video camera, he concludes. Something weird that Dazai owns.
"A camcorder." Dazai replies, lifting his eyes to gaze at the camera. He opens it, tilting and angling the lens so it focused on Atsushi's face, the camera lens zooming on him. "Why? You want one?"
"Who gave it to you? It looks old."
"Ah." Dazai laughs, the sound bittersweet. It's not hollow, but one full of anguished memories and something so bittersweet. "Someone special. Someone who I considered a close friend."

“What’s your name?”
“Miran.” The sweet voice replies.
“Miran,” he tries the name. Just as sweet as its owner. “My name’s Dazai.”
“I know,” she giggles. “It’s a pleasure to meet you, your highness.”
“Believe me, the pleasure is all mine.”

Summary
At the beginning of summer in 1923, after getting kicked out of his prestigious boarding school, fifteen year old Dazai Osamu is sent to live with his cousin, Oda Sakunosuke, who runs a theater at the tail end of Broadway. In a twist of fate he's immediately drawn in by Nakahara Chuuya, a dancer at the Flawless Playhouse, and the two spiral into three years of indulgence, heartbreak, and way too much alcohol that can only end with them being forced to rip apart the seams that have sewn them so tightly together the past 3 years.
The roaring 20s teenage skk au nobody asked for but I decided to write anyway.

Summary
After a suicide attempt, Dazai is cast away to work at the lighthouse his great uncle had owned in the north of the mythical Shimane prefecture. He's not even in the town, he's three nautical miles away from the nearest port, always overlooking a populace that he supposes he can never be a part of.
Dazai finds that this esoteric ward he does not acknowledge offers more surprises than creeping loneliness. When the body of a man washes up on his beach, it seems that fortune has offered him a hand in repairing a piece of himself he has come to tolerate through the eyes of someone who has no idea what it means to be a human.
