Away from the Tower, the Avengers, away from SHIELD and running ops all over the globe, away from the flying bullets and aliens and hospitals, you might just find him at the top floor apartment of a big old building in Bedford-Stuyvesant (when he’s not kicking ass at Avengers Poker Night). The neighbors are friendly, his favorite other Hawkeye and Pizza Dog are there, his- well it’s not like they put a label on it- really good friend and partner and co-Avenger Natasha drops by when she can, and it’s usually pretty quiet. Besides the whole Russian tracksuit mafia and the occasional bit of superheroing on the side, it’s just the kind of downtime a guy could really use nowadays.
Except, nothing ever goes the way it should, so when relationship drama, shady government dealings, and a network of Hydra-sympathizing evil scientists set on creating a disastrous bio-weapon get involved, that much needed R&R tends to get disrupted.
