“Oh—oh no,” Chowder says despairingly, sinking to his knees to start collecting the garbage. Dex joins him, but then he notices that everything he’s collecting is wrappers: takeaway containers, fast food bags, the occasional TV dinner box…
“Chowder, do you eat, like, any actual food?” Dex can’t stop himself from saying.

Courfeyrac has thought Combeferre was a bit too amazing to be real since the day they met, but the more intimate little moments he gets to see, the more he’s sure his feelings are shifting. It’s different from his usual nebulous ball of platonic-sexual-romantic mostly in that it’s way, way more intense. Instead of casually observing that Combeferre’s laugh is so sexy in between noticing the gorgeous colour of Bossuet’s eyes and the way Bahorel is rocking his scarf, his brain has been stuck on a neverending reel of all Combeferre, all the time.

On December 1st, Enjolras finds chocolate-covered coffee beans in his mailbox; on the 2nd, it's personalized cufflinks. His friends all seem to know who's responsible for the daily anonymous gifts, but they're staying quiet. Enjolras would probably do a better job of investigating if he wasn't distracted by the way Grantaire seems to have finally taken an interest in their cause.

Unfortunately, there aren’t any profits to speak of. Enter theatre marketing genius Grantaire, who tells Enjolras that if he wants people to come to his shows, he should start putting on plays that people actually want to come see—not that it matters, because theatre is a dying art.
