Summary
In a seemingly perfect world where death is controlled by Scythes, an unlikely team must face their own morality and corruption as they hunt down a rogue assassin threatening to unravel the system.
Two infamous Scythe twins are known for their more creative ways of taking life. Another has taken it upon himself to glean the Scythes who get too cocky, known only as Scythe Lucifer. One gleans with kindness and sympathy. One with apathy and logic. And at the center of it all, the mysterious and cunning High Blade, who has orchestrated the mission to stop the 'Orange Scythe' by any means necessary.
Soon, they come to realize a hard truth:
Living in a perfect world comes at a heavy price.

“I–” Logan stops at this, running a shaky hand through his hair, his eyes wet and blurry and devastating. “I don’t want to lose control.”
Patton sees him. He understands him. He sees his own terrified reflection in Logan’s glasses as he crosses his arms as if he could fold in on himself until he disappears.
“Please.” He moves towards him, towards his folded body, and slowly places his soft hands on his shoulders. “You need to.”

Summary
Steady and composed, Lauma walked over to Nefer, her every step deliberate. She raised her hand above Nefer's face, the silvery gleam of her blood catching the light in the dimness around them. Drops of blood flowed like rain in barren land, the promise of renewal and vitality imbued within them. Silver met brown as her blood mingled with Nefer's own. The blood dried in patches along Nefer's lower eyelid and cheek, the colour of rust - shiny, but faded. Nefer shuddered as the blood continued to drip but she remained still. She fought the tremors in her body and summoned every last ounce of energy to stay steady.
After the battle against Rerir, Nefer is left blind and dependent on Lauma’s care for her recovery. The event pulls the two women together, compelling them to face the undeniable closeness that neither can easily dismiss. As vulnerability slips through the cracks of the walls they've built between them, they find themselves drawn to each other in ways they thought had faded with time.

Nefer does not believe in pretty privileges. Or that's what she tells herself as she looks over the new face in front of her. There is no way she’s getting away with her absurd request, no matter how gorgeous she looks.
“You want us to what?” she checks again. She hopes the lady gets her hint and leaves.
“Please Miss Nefer, help the Frostmoon Scions recover our lost Moon Marrow. It is my duty as Moonchanter to recover it.” Lauma forges on resolutely.
“No can do,” Just thinking about it gives Nefer a headache. “We’re not accepting that commission.”
