“No. Thats too much work,” he said dismissively as he gave his picture a once over before deeming it complete.
She smiled as she continued her work, and he watched her hands carefully tuck loop after loop.
“If it is so hard, why is it that we both are working on gifts for him?”
“I--! I’m not---!” Haruka’s face burned red as a rush of embarrassment and agitation twisted his expression. His Grandmother laid down her work and gently took his face in her hands. She pressed a kiss to his temple.
“Mmm, its okay Haruka. Its much easier to protect the castle with two people rather than just one.”
Haruka turned his face away from her view. “I don’t need anyone but you, Baa-baa."

How he’s in no pain, no distress, no fear, Makoto is sitting back now fully-dressed in his green sweater and gray slacks like he’s at a business meeting and here’s Haru, naked, hair mussed, eyes wide, unable to move. Completely under his power.
And the thought provides only … relief.
