The other thing is that Keigo laughs. Not performatively - he’s done that too, the public Hawks laugh, but actually, and it sounds different. Surprised out of him, sometimes. At things Touya says, mostly, which is baffling because Touya is not trying to be funny. He’s just talking. In the way he talks. And Keigo laughs.
It does something to Touya’s chest that he’s categorizing as indigestion.

His thoughts spiral whilst he makes the two cups of tea, moving automatically as his brain supplies him with increasingly absurd scenarios that ended with Bakugou on his doorstep on a random afternoon in August.
'Did you kill someone?' he blurts out as he hands a floral mug over.
'What?' A drop of tea spills over the side as Bakugou jolts, eyes comically large.
'I just can’t see another reason that you would be here.' Another question springs to the forefront of his mind. 'How did you even find where I live? Did you use your criminal contacts to get my address? Did you stalk me?'
The stunned look on Bakugou’s face doesn’t change as he speaks. 'What the fuck do you think I do in my free time?'
or: The end of the War sees unlikely friendships blooming, and with a trip to London on the horizon, Shouto has all the time in the world to figure out what it means to like Bakugou Katsuki.

Summary
Todoroki Touya dies in the early hours of the 12th of January.
He dies quietly, painlessly, in his sleep, surrounded by people he cared about once upon a time, by people that loved him until the bitter end. Touya leaves the world the same way he came into it, held in his mother’s arms and cradled with all the gentleness in the world.
Shouto thinks a small part of him dies that day too.
He doesn’t remember the funeral.
or: Touya finally succumbs to his injuries and Shouto struggles to handle what comes afterwards.
